PreView Sentry®

 

PreView Sentry® accurately identifies the location and velocity of up to 16 people or objects simultaneously.  Sentry has a fully adjustable detection zone, with the ability to detect objects from the face of the radar up to 30 meters (98 feet), and the width of the detection zone is adjustable to fit almost all vehicle types.

Heavy-duty industry accidents are costly and can bring an entire operation to a halt. Unfortunately, these accidents are on the rise. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), approximately 75% of struck-by fatalities involve heavy equipment. PRECO believes that this is unacceptable, and aims to significantly reduce the incidence and severity of heavy-duty equipment accidents by developing the most reliable safety solutions available to OEMs, upfitters and fleet operations.

Sentry has a fully configurable detection zone, with the ability to detect objects from the face of the radar up to 30 meters (98 feet), and the width of the detection zone is adjustable to fit almost all vehicle types.

With built-in fail safe alerts that notify the operator of radar blockage or communication issues, operators and fleet managers can be sure that they are working with the most reliable object detection system available.

PRECO’s engineering team spent over two years developing the PreView Sentry radar in order to provide our customers with the most sophisticated heavy-duty object detection radar available.

PreView Side Defender®II

PreView Side Defender®II, the industry’s most advanced side object detection solution, has been developed specifically for over-the-road truck operators and city service and delivery drivers. The Side Defender II system actively warns operators with audible and visual alerts, in order for them to take the appropriate actions to mitigate collisions.

PreView Side Defender®II, the industry’s most advanced side collision avoidance solution, has been developed specifically for over-the-road truck operators and city services and  delivery drivers. 

According to independent research, the incidence of highway and urban collisions are rising by almost 10% per year. PRECO believes that this is unacceptable and we are driven to design technology that assists heavy duty vehicle operators to mitigate these avoidable accidents.

The Side Defender®II system actively warns operators with audible and visual alerts, in order for them to take the appropriate actions to mitigate collisions. Additionally, it has the ability to integrate with telematics applications, vehicle control systems, vision systems  or  other sensors using industry standard communications.

As part of the Side Defender®II system, the PreView® v2 in-cab display equips operators with more intuitive audible and visual alerts while offering installers more flexibility and time savings. For retrofit applications, the new display can provide a GPS based vehicle speed message, while OEMs and bodybuilders can connect the display directly to the vehicle CAN-bus for vehicle speed information.

Responding to global demands to protect vulnerable road users (VRU), PRECO Electronics® introduces PreView Side Defender®II, the new benchmark for side collision mitigation technology across the globe. Representing an evolution of advanced technology, Side Defender®II adds VRU awareness to PRECO’s blind spot lane change assist feature, and successfully eliminates nuisance alerts, reduces lane change accidents, and mitigates incidents in crowded urban settings.

 

pREVIEW SENTRY®X

 

Using the Sentry® platform, PRECO created the Sentry®X with a narrower field of view designed to support all the same installation points as the original PreView Xtreme. The Sentry®X adds a narrow field of view option to PRECO’s latest product family – the global standard for blind spot monitoring on heavy duty mobile equipment operating in the harshest of environments.

Featuring a Narrow Field of View for Specialized Applications

In 2016, PRECO released the PreView Sentry®, the first of its frequency modulated continuous wave radar sensors operating in the narrow band 24 GHz band. The Sentry® provides a wide 150 degree horizontal field of view with adjustable detection zone (range and width) making it a very effective blind spot monitoring sensor; however, the wide field of view does not allow the Sentry to be installed in certain applications such as at the center of the rear axle on large haul trucks – the sensor will detect the wheels on either side.
